I am having issues with the github that systematically have conflicts with files I did versus the ones from the git. Of course, I want to keep my versions and avoid these to be erase by the empty template files in the git repo. Is there a nice an easy way to git pull only new files with an option saying that I always want my local files to be privileged over files from the repo ?

Isn't git pull already supposed to pull only new files and the ones you changed on git directly ?
