In class, we have seen a number of proofs, but looking at previous exams, they are never asked. So am I correct in saying that we don't need to be able to reproduce them? I know we have to understand what's happening and why, but sometimes little tricks were used, which I wouldn't always come up with myself. So I would then have to memorize those tricks, which would be a lot of work.
Proofs on exams
Dear professors,
In class, we have seen a number of proofs, but looking at previous exams, they are never asked. So am I correct in saying that we don't need to be able to reproduce them? I know we have to understand what's happening and why, but sometimes little tricks were used, which I wouldn't always come up with myself. So I would then have to memorize those tricks, which would be a lot of work.
Thanks in advance for the response.
