I am not sure I totally understand your question.
In this problem, the explanatory variables are 2D, we project onto the first PC (to compress them). After the projection, we have points that are on the direction on the first PC and we can see, in dataset 1, classifying the points is easy as their projections are separable.
We didn't make a concrete use of the second PC in this problem.
